We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Do not schedule Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa) as a Schedule I Drug.

Created by T.C. on September 08, 2016

Schedule I substances are defined as those that "[…] have no currently accepted medical use in the United States, a lack of accepted safety for use under medical supervision, and a high potential for abuse."

Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa) does not fall into any of those three categories. It is an herbal remedy that can be used to treat chronic pain, anxiety, depression, fatigue, PTSD, and a variety of other ailments. It has proven to be an effective and cheap alternative for sufferers of these conditions who would rather take a natural and safer remedy than those they are being prescribed by their doctors. Kratom is also significantly safer than currently legal synthetic opioids. There is no scientific evidence of Kratom being addictive.
