Do Not Sign the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill until the bill is inclusive of Uniting American Families Act

Created by B.C. on May 23, 2013

Comprehensive Immigration Reform was being formed to overhaul the immigration system and bring a balance and fairness to it. This week the bill fell drastically short of true equality when the "Gang of Eight" decided that including UAFA (the recognition of same sex married couples as equal under immigration law, and therefore capable of sponsoring their spouses in the same way as heterosexual couples) would cause the bill to fail in the voting process.
By doing this, not only have these "representatives" ignored the wishes of constituents, but they further impose inequality on citizens of this nation. Families are being torn apart every day over this issue.
As it stands this bill would only reward those who haven't followed legal procedure, and provide no relief for those who have.
