Do Not Sugarcoat It

Created by N.W. on November 21, 2015

That the Federal Government mandate food manufacturers place a percentage of the daily value (%DV) of sugars, to include added sugars and fructose on the labels of all products meant to be consumed as food.

That the FDA identify the %DV based off available research and update periodically.

This will not affect naturally occurring, fresh food such as produce (i.e. fruits and vegetables), meat, fish, eggs, or milk.

This will however affect such foods that have an expiration date, and are preserved in such a way as to extend their shelf life (i.e. canned or frozen) and dairy products (e.g. cheese and yogurt).
