The Syrian civil conflict while troubling, especially now that there is talk of chemical weapons use against the population, is not a direct militaristic concern of ours. To include ourselves or head any "offensive action" against a country that doesn't share our borders or pose a direct threat to us is opening up an international diplomatic pandora's box. Smaller actions have started world wars. The domestic financial cost of another military action can not be afforded when so many people are without jobs, and funding for schools and healthcare for our neediest seem to constantly be decreasing.
A pre-emptive Drone or missile attack should not be allowed per the war powers act which requires congress to approve such actions and expenditures beforehand. We are not the world's police.
