It is long overdue. Both need to happen now. America is strong enough to stand a recession. Provided this ends the dysfunction of Congress and returns our government to representing the broad interests of the people, rather than entrenched special interests ruling in the corridors of Capital Hill & K Street. Government for the people, by the people, shall only perish if we allow our elected leaders to represent everything but what is good for our country's long term fiscal health. We need to rebuild confidence and trust in government through shared sacrifice and a return to the belief we do this for the greater good. Our well meaning representatives, whom we elected, need to be strong and resolute, rather than pander to those interests dividing our beloved nation.
