Do NOTraise the Medicare eligibility age to 67 to appease Republicans on the fiscal cliff! NO MEDICARE BARGAINS!

Created by M.C. on December 10, 2012

Do not bargain away the current age 65 eligibility for Medicare by increasing it to 67 as proposed by Republicans. The $5.4 billion dollars saved by the government would come at the expense of $11.6 billion for employers and individuals. What we will end up with is a huge increase in the number of uninsured between age 65 and 67 since buying private insurance costs much more. This will be a human tragedy that will be measurable in the increased number of deaths between 65 and 67 or the increased number of workers who must wait 2 more years to retire.
