Approximately 40% of edible food in this country is thrown away uneaten. In the face of widespread food insecurity and dwindling natural resources, this is unacceptable.
We ask the Obama administration to:
-find innovative ways to get discarded food to the people who need it
-reduce our food waste in the interest of natural resource conservation
-make permanent the tax breaks which incentivize small businesses to donate food
