Do what ever it can to prevent unnecessary gun violence in the United States while maintaining the 2nd amendment.

Created by J.S. on January 20, 2013

The recent shooting in Newtown, CT has left the American people asking "What now?" Many are calling for stricter gun laws that would effect the requirements for owning a gun, who can legally sell guns, what type of guns can be own, etc. The United States has the highest rate of gun related violence in the World and the most privately owned guns as well. This is no coincidence and must be changed to ensure the safety of every citizen. However The Constitution does include the right to bear arms for "a well regulated militia". With that in mind I call for any and all legislation and executive action to be taken to tighten gun control laws while upholding the Constitution.
