Do what ever it takes to get the oil companies to lower fuel prices. There is no reason an oil company needs to make billions of dollars in PROFIT the first quarter alone.
Whats more important right now. The environment or the economy. People cant afford $40k hybrids and electric vehicles. A lot of people cant even afford the newer gas only vehicles that get 30 to 40 mpg. And high gas prices drive up shipping cost which than drives up product cost, than drives up commute costs in turn making the dollar less valuable. And now people losing jobs or lack of raises to pay for this inflation.
You want to fix the economy. Start with fuel.
