During the post WW2 period, the top tax bracket stood at 90%. The unions thrived as there was an equitable distribution in our economy. The nation grew like a wild weed. We became the untouchable global giant at the time. Up till the time of Ronald Reagan's presidency where he struck the first blow with his "Union Busting" of the traffic controllers union and the 1%'ers tax bracket dropped to apprx 35% from the 90% and then still later under Bush and his Capital Gains, "17%" bracket.. That's half of the nations tax revenues disappeared to.
THE ECONOMY IS BROKEN, FIX IT.
