Mr. Trump cannot hold the position of President and have any ownership in the Trump companies. The conflicts of interest are too great. Moreover, Mr. Trump must not be allowed to allow his family members to run the businesses or own them while he serves as President. There would be no way for there not to be conflicts of interest with his family members running or owning the businesses. Then President-elect Jimmy Carter sold his entire peanut business before his inauguration; Mr. Trump must do the same with his businesses.
