Donate more money to help further the research of gene therapy for the purpose of curing diseases.

Created by P.P. on June 02, 2015

CRISPR is a gene therapy technology that edits the human genome with precision and efficiency. We believe that since we have discovered these technologies, we should utilize them to their fullest potential. For this to happen, we should be allowed to continue researching gene therapy, and more money should be given to help the cause.

The method proven to be the safest and most effective is CRISPR. CRISPR allows us to cure diseases by using a system bacteria uses to fight viruses. When the bacteria detects a virus, it makes two types of RNA, which then make a protein called Cas9. The Cas9 protein is used to then cut the bad genetic mutation out of the DNA. When the DNA tries to repair the section that was cut out, new healthy base pairs are installed which cures the diseases completely.
