Don't give away sacred Apache lands to foreign companies for mining.

The NDAA allowed for a land-swap deal with Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton to mine Sacred Apache lands for copper. These two companies are both foreign owned and created the project company, Resolution Copper for U.S. mining operations. The Apache land located in the Oak Flat area of the Tonto National Forest in Arizona contains prehistoric petroglyphs, markings, and is in use today for sacred Apache ceremonies. Congress refused previous attempts to unlock the land for development so Senator John McCain hid it in the NDAA so Congress may have unknowingly passed it. This land is irreplaceable, and giving away to a foreign mining company would break yet another U.S. promise to our indigenous peoples.
