Don't Jump! There's a path down from this cliff.

The Fiscal Cliff is a failure of Leadership. We have been led to the brink and told there is no way down. Tax increases and spending cuts overnight... a great shock to the economy! But any good guide (or government) knows there is another way down. There is a gradual path that gets us to safety. Phase out the Bush Tax cuts over 4 years and phase them out for everyone, this is a shared burden. The rich will still see much higher increases than the middle class, but they cannot do it alone. Everyone must have skin in the game, a little now or a lot more pain later. On the spending side, we can't afford 2 years of unemployment insurance or any more "payroll tax holidays". End these "temporary" benefits and then freeze spending for 4 years to get our house in order. LEAD don't PANDER.
