Don't remove the statue in Glendale, CA public park

Created by L.C. on January 04, 2014

Dear president Obama,
I am a boy who is 16years old, Korean. I saw the news that there are petitions to remove the statue in CA park. I am angry. Because that statue is for the old ladies who are the victims of militarism. When Korea was a colonly of Japan, they were dragged away and be raped by Japanese army. Although 80 years passed, some of them are still alive and the scars never be cured. They are the living witnesses. Even some of Japanese soldiers admitted that they raped Korean women. Don't you think they must be compensated for their soul? I think that Democracy is a justice that look around and take care of the sufferer. USA is a nation of justice in movies which I saw. I'm not good at English, but if my earnestness is passed to you, please don't remove the statue.
Sincerely,

Foreign Policy
