There may be issues with the performance of the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), but shutting them down will create an issue for 800,000 students who are not the problem. The entire purpose of the government regulating accreditation bodies is to ensure students get what they paid for. Well, 800,000 students are about to not get what they paid for if ACICS is shut down. It will leave them with worthless degrees, and thousands of dollars in debt for nothing. The veterans that use their GI Bills they earned serving our country to pay for their education at a school that is accredited by ACICS, will have exhausted their benefits for nothing. Take the time to fix ACICS, rather than taking the lazy route to shut them down.
