Don't take any military action in Iraq

Created by J.S. on June 19, 2014

We the people petition the White House not to take any military action in Iraq. This includes sending combat troops, advisers, conducting air strikes, conducting drone strikes, or sending weapons. After more than a decade of war the American people are tired of it.

Our troops fought bravely and accomplished everything their country asked of them. They secured peace in Iraq but it was up to the government of Iraq to maintain that peace. Through incompetence, mismanagement, and the inflaming of sectarian divisions the government of Nouri al-Maliki threw away the peace that America had earned for them. It is by no means the responsibility of America to again pour out our blood and treasure to win peace for Iraq. We should not get involved by taking sides in what is an Iraqi civil war.
