Don't take military action in Syria. Both sides of this war are anti-American. Crushing Assad's regime won't do any good

Created by I.K. on August 27, 2013

Any military action in Syria is going to be dangerous and counterproductive. If Assad loses, the situation in the region will only get worse, just like it did in Lybia and Egypt. Assad is by no means a friend of the USA, but Assad's enemies are led by Taliban-like religious fanatics. In the long run are much more dangerous to America than Assad himself. Aiding them would be a big mistake, not to mention human and financial cost of war, inevitable suffering on both sides of the front lines that would be blamed on Americans, and further damage to America's image abroad.
