double NASA's budget, allowing manned missions to the Moon and Mars, plus the capture of an asteroid.

I can't argue for this better than Neil deGrasse Tyson (http://www.tor.com/blogs/2012/04/neil-degrasse-tyson-on-the-nasa-budget), but I think that NASA is vital for stimulating future scientists and engineers. We desperately need these people in this country both now and in the future. As an engineering student myself, something I dream of working on is an Apollo project for my generation. As far as tax dollars go, though difficult to quantify, NASA has a fantastically high return on investment. There are few federal programs that genuinely get people excited about science, and it's sad to see this one on the chopping block. Help restore our future!
