We went to the Moon in 1969 and ceased our efforts in 1972. 12 people went. No one has gone back in over 40 years. Ever since the Moon landings, the NASA budget has fallen to around 0.5% of the GDP. That's half a penny on a tax dollar. Surely we can spare an innovative, inspiring, educating agency ONE full penny when we spend 16% of our money on militant efforts. I feel that we need to not be afraid to step of this raft in the middle of the cosmic sea and venture off for a prolific continent on which we could flourish.
