Double NASA's budget

Created by A.M. on July 29, 2012

NASA's appropriations budget for FY 2013 is currently $17.7 billion, representing 0.46% of the total U.S. annual budget, or roughly half a penny for every taxpayer dollar. Doubling NASA's budget to $37.5 billion would raise it to one percent of the total U.S. annual budget -- or a penny for every tax dollar. Such funding would ensure that NASA's initiatives, including manned and unmanned missions, continue to advance our understanding of the cosmos and produce scientific and technological breakthroughs that have tangible and positive impacts on daily life back home on Earth.
