Because of the potential danger to American citizens visiting Russia posed by recently enacted and vaguely defined laws targeting GLBT Russians and visitors to that country, and
Because of the recent actions of the Russian government counter to the interests of the United States Government,
We petition the president to take action to downgrade Russia's trading status with our country from that of most favored nation.
We also request that the president inform the International Olympic Committee that the United States wishes the upcoming Winter Games relocated to a venue outside of Russia.
Should Russia not agree to return to a path adhering to universal human rights and the IOC fail to comply with the request to relocate the games, we ask that no U.S. teams be sent.
