Draft legislation that will outlaw high frequency, fully automated trading of securities on all US stock exchanges.

Created by P.Q. on March 31, 2014

For years now, there has been a technologically driven arms race of sorts to increase speed and frequency of securities transactions and gain advantage for the trading firms with access to that technology. The result of this High Frequency Trading (HFQ) has resulted in a small group of firms making vast sums of money. At the same time, this practice puts the market as a whole in danger, does nothing to help the small but core investor largely made up of American workers and families, and adds no value to the US economy. HFQ is just a method of gaming the system. It is not in the spirit of American investing and not a healthy practice for the economy as a whole.
