The United States of America has changed so much as a country and as a people since our Founding Fathers signed our Constitution in 1787 that Americans must consider changes in how we are governed. In 1776, America had 2.5 million citizens. Today, we have over 400 million, and the structure and operation of our representation in our government has barely changed. Lobbyists dominate the attention of Congress muffling the voices of average Americans. We need changes because our representation has become thoroughly diluted and diminished. We need experienced leaders who have run large scale organizations, not professional politicians. Without changes in how we are governed, before much longer, our government will abandon us all together, if it hasn't already. We need an overhaul.
