Dramatically reduce the Navy's use of sonar "testing", which maims and kills endangered whales and dolphins.

Created by C.L. on December 16, 2013

The Navy has announced its intent to increase sonar testing. This testing has been found to injure marine mammals, especially whales and dolphins, which navigate their ocean world by sonar. The Navy's sonar is so powerful that it damages the tissues they use to receive sonar and rips their eardrums (yes, really). This is animal cruelty and environmental destruction, wreaking havoc on ocean ecosystems by killing the apex species in many areas.

We won WWII with radar. We know sonar works. It's ridiculous for the Navy to say it has to use real-world sonar for training - they use computers for most other training. Use computers for this, too, and stop maiming and killing whales and dolphins.
