A 35hour week will create 22 MILLION jobs (enough to end all unemployment) w/ no cost to taxpayers.
The 40hour week dates back to early1900s. Since then productivity per worker increased over 1000%.
Since 1970 alone, productivity has increased over 400% and GDP has increased by 1400%.
Wage income (adjusted for inflation) has not increased at all.
The additional profits created by technology and globalization have gone to corporations w/o benefiting the middle class.
To protect low paid workers, increase minimum wage to $11.50 (20k per year at 35hours)
To protect jobs from outsourcing, tariff goods sold by US based companies which are manufactured in another country.
Employers may claim they can not afford it, but the increases in productivity and GDP prove they can.
