The current penalties for criminal acts committed with a gun are inadequate.
We must do something to stop gun violence in America.
How many criminals would be in possession of an illegal firearm if on their first offense put them in prison for a year, and their second offense put them in prison for 10 years?
How many criminals would commit a felony using a firearm if the penalty for a first offense was 20 years in prison?
How many criminals would shoot someone if the penalty for firing a weapon during the commission of a felony was 40 years in prison?
Parole should not be allowed for these convictions.
Eventually all of the criminals would either stop using guns, or be taken off the streets and put in prison where they belong.
I believe this is what the people of America want.
