Drastically increase teacher pay.

Our education system is in a state of disrepair. The United States continuously lags behind other countries in education quality. Teacher pay is laughable and is partially responsible for the state of our education system. Many are familiar with the saying, 'Those who cannot do, teach.' This needs to change. Drastically increasing teacher pay would increase the quality of education by fostering competition for teaching positions. Imagine how different our society would be if the top college graduates actually wanted to be a teachers! Imagine the best and brightest members of our society teaching the youngest members of our society. Increasing teacher pay will have immediate benefit our society, and it will also make the United States globally competitive for decades to come.
