Over the past decade the cost of textbooks has risen over 80%. This price increase is nearly 3x what the rate of inflation has been. In addition to hurting the wallet of already poor students, these costs also hurt academics and can turn students to dishonest methods of acquiring the needed materials. I petition that this is hurting the students of America in that they have no choice but to use the books that they are given, fail, or try to cheat the system.
