The price we as Americans pay for gas is totally out of control! The United States is the world's largest consumer of oil and as such we should enjoy a better position from which to negotiate the price of that oil. By drilling for our own oil and using our own oil we can force OPEC to drop the cost of their oil in order to win our business back. Simultaneously we also need to seriously pursue alternative energy sources in order to permanently end our dependency on foreign oil. Why do we continue to allow foreign interests/economies to trump our own?
