Drop Columbus Day as a federal Holiday, add election day as a replacement. There's nothing more American than voting.

As many states are enacting laws making harder for Americans to vote, it's up to us as citizens not only expose these laws for what they are, modern poll taxes and Jim Crow statutes, but to encourage and enable all Americans to vote.
Columbus Day is only recognized by 23 States, so dropping it as a federal holiday, and leaving it as a calendar holiday, makes financial and historical sense.
Now, adding election day as a holiday won't require an addition in the number of federal holidays.
This is an easy way to help realize actual universal suffrage.
