We, the undersigned people of this petition, believe that congress has become ineffective due to the ability to vote for their own raises without the consent of the people, due to lobbying from groups which may or may not have the same values as constituents, due to having no money problems of their own. We feel our representation is often purchased and sold without our consent. We, the undersigned people of this petition, ask President Obama to enact an executive order that reduces the pay of all members of congress to no more than $350.00 USD on a weekly basis or $700.00 USD on a biweekly basis.
