President Obama, when you came in to Washington as an outsider you were committed to forming a government whose policies would benefit the largest number of Americans. Your nomination of Anotonio Weiss as under secretary of Treasury for domestic finance does not reflect these intentions. In addition, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Dick Durbin, three prominent lawmakers who have been fighting hard to make our economy more equitable, and the respected Independent Community Bankers Association, have all expressed their opposition to this nomination. There are several candidates who are well qualified and well positioned to make our economic systems work for everyone, but Mr. Weiss is not one of them. We request you to remove Mr. Weiss' name from consideration for the stated position.
