Drug addiction is a medical, not a legal problem. turn the war on drugs into a cure for the addicted.

Created by J.L. on April 22, 2016

Drug addiction is a disease, not a crime. The criminalization of
addiction has led to a drastic inflation of narcotics prices,
stimulating further criminal activity. It does not lessen the
use of drugs. If all drugs were legal, street prices would plummet,
and the crime that supports the illicit drug trade would dry up.
Addicts would find free treatment at a Medicaid clinic, and would no longer
spend useless and expensive jail time not being treated for their disease.
The savings of police, penal, and probationary costs would be in the billions.
