Welfare abuse has over-run our nation, too many times you see people living it up on the tax dollars of hard working Americans. I am not saying that all government assistance should stop, but why can't it be more closely monitored, and why do welfare benefits seem to last so long. I understand that time are tough with the economy and the society that we live in, but there is no reason that welfare needs to be accepted by anyone for longer than 6 months. Alot of the people I see on welfare in the towns I live around are buying and eating better food than what I get to eat and I got work and bust my hump every day for 50-60 hours a week. Drug test your welfare recipients and new applicants, if the don't pass they don't deserve welfare, plain and simple.
