We believe welfare recipients should be required to submit a drug screening questionnaire and, if necessary, a drug test in order to receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits. Recently, state legislators have been introducing bills that require drug-tests for those who receive welfare. States like Texas and Florida have already passed a bill to drug test some welfare applicants and cut off drug users from receiving the benefits of the program.
