I feel that drug testing should be an important part of the application process for welfare participants. Those of us who get up and go to work on a daily basis are subjected to random drug testing just to keep our jobs. It is only fair for those who are receiving "free" money to undergo the same process. In addition to drug testing, we should also set up a required minimum of 10 hours a week of community service as well. It will not only give the recipient a chance to get out in the world and learn new skills to help further assist them to find a job in the future but would also help their communities as well. I feel that this will help to discourage those who take advantage of the system.
