The current and ever standing benchmark of fuel economy for many domestic automobiles is abysmal compared to what is being produced-bought-used abroad.
For example The United States is still dragging their feet when it comes to allowing ultra clean Diesel engines to be equipped to domestic vehicles, granted some are currently available from a select group of auto companies, but many are simply not.
Hybrid care are a temporary solution, the range they offer is laughable compared to modern ultra clean direct injection diesels, the technology is here the fuel can be made from sustainable and renewable resources and there is buyers out there.
Lastly the diesel & alternative fuel credit needs to return.
