In light of recent states mandating a 21 day quarantine for any person returning from a disease ridden country such as West Africa, I feel it would be in our country's best interest to Federally mandate this quarantine as well. Although a person is not considered contagious until they are symptomatic, the danger is present when an infected person resumes normal life in the U.S. There seems to be too much room for error in allowing a person to return home and monitor for symptoms in an uncontrolled environment. Understanding that this may deter healthcare providers from traveling to assist patients in need, our first concern should be to control the spread of this virus on U.S. soil.
