In support of the Homeless Bill of Rights that has been enacted in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Illinois, and that is under consideration by several other states, I would like to petition that we add Economic Empowerment to the bill as well. It is not just about having the basic inalienable rights that every human being should have but its about changing an individuals mind set from that of hopelessness to prosperity. Every American has a dream and its unfortunate that sometimes our dreams are deferred for a variety of reasons. However having "a dream deferred" in the words of Mr. Langston Hughes does not mean they are denied.
