The Pledge of Allegiance currently violates the First Amendment.
The First Amendment states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion."
In the Flag Code passed by Congress, The Pledge of Allegiance states: "..under God.."
Many religions refer to their god by a different name, and other religions have multiple gods. Since only Christianity solely refers the their god as "God," the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States indisputably violates the First Amendment.
This isn't an attack on Christianity, this is people of all religions protecting our First Amendment.
You can say a "robust dialogue about the role of religion in public life" is important all you want, but what you are doing is using flowery words and a wall of text to avoid a simple and clear cut fact.
