Al Gore has written extensively about the extreme income gap in the US today. But more importantly there is a gap in the public's understanding of how severe this gap has become. The public first needs to know how severe the gap is and secondly congress needs to take action to address it. Income inequality is necessary in a market economy, but the levels we have today in the US are unsustainable and will lead to the eventual decline of our society.
