Mandate education starting in 9th grade on how to interact with police officers. A few hours of instruction followed by a simple quiz would mean all the difference in some recent events. Key topics to cover:
Obey the law!
Actions after being pulled over. (Hands on steering wheel, window down, engine/radio off, overhead light on)
How to talk with police. (P's & Q's)
Respect for authority.
Non-threating body postures. (Hands away from waistline)
Immediate compliance with Police orders. (i.e. drop the weapon, get on the ground, etc)
Basically all the stuff parents should have told them. (But clearly aren't.)
Police officers have had more than enough training.
