In my travels I find that most Americans I talk to simply don’t understand the economic cycle. Macro and Micro economics are foreign terms to them. Moneytarism, Keynesian and classic economic theories are unfathomable. Our economic problems may indeed be too large for most people to grasp and they are therefore drawn to simplistic solutions that sound good on the surface but will actually wreak havoc.
Educate the peoplet. Good speeches are simply not enough. Words are just words. Launch a full court press using visual media that repetitively hammers viable solutions into the people's minds. We are entitled to serious discussion between our leaders of solutions that will leave the public safety net intact. We are uninterested in partisan solutions that only benefit the wealthy.
