Educate teens more about bullying, self harm, and mental disorders. Not knowing is damaging, ignorance is harming us.

We see a sexual education video in fifth grade. We are taught about abstinence, protection, drugs, and STD's. We learn about how dangerous drinking and driving is by seeing a graphic reenactment of a car accident. We learn about bullying, but often when it's too late and a life has been lost.

What we aren't seeing is what so many teens are struggling with, but hide, because it's not out there in the open that's its OKAY to talk about it. The stigma surrounding mental disorders, self harm, and eating disorders prevents many people from being able to admit that they are struggling.

Surely we can educate the youth of today about all of the above. We can let them know that it's okay to ask for help. We can help prevent this from happening in the first place by teaching about this in schools.
