Educate those who think secession is treason and help them realize that the Constitution permits it

This petition is to educate those who are against the secession of states from the Union and to help them realize that the states are sovereign and existed before the Union. The Union is not perpetual as many wrongly believe. Educate those who think secession is treason that the New Englanders of the early 1800's discussed secession. It was never looked upon as treason. It was not thought of as treason even in 1861. Many Northern newspapers wished the South godspeed and peace. This is why Lincoln shut down over 300 newspapers and imprisoned its editors. To think secession is treason is to be illiterate about the history of America. Our country was formed through an act of secession. The founders were not going to turn right around and make our own government susceptible to tyranny.
