70% of the one billion people living in extreme poverty are women and girls. Girls are 3x more likely to be malnourished than boys. Globally, 65 million girls do not attend elementary or high school.
Too often girls in third world countries are kept out of school because families believe their presence is more useful at home than in a classroom. Those who do go to school, are malnourished and cannot succeed in school.
It's time to stand together to support the right of all girls to good nutrition and an education.
Therefore we suggest that the U.S.A. bring up this issue to the U.N. and advocate for greater funds for women's education and nourishment internationally, by holding fundraisers to raise awareness and financial aid for this cause.
