Education Loan Interest Deduction Amendment

Created by A.H. on November 09, 2016

This is a proposal for an amendment to 26 U.S.C. § 221(b)(1) to eliminate the maximum allowable deduction of student loan interest. Because student loan debt has proliferated, there is a need to treat education loans similarly to acquisition debts under the tax code, thereby allowing educated Americans to reduce their income tax burden and invest in new American businesses.
