This is a budget cutting idea and also will open up the military establishment to community living, support, and fellowship. All military departments waste tons of monies on services that can be obtained from driving off the base. Millions & millions are spent to provide a grocery store(commissary) and BX/PXs (consumer shopping), schools, golf courses, movie theatres, liquor stores, etc.;, WHY? It's almost as if our politcal leaders wants them to be only socialized from within. Defense should have the bulk of budget cuts because they get the most-- but start with these "cash cows" that promote wasteful duplicative services that can be obtained by any normal citizens of a community. Looked at a military pay scale lately???
