efficiently fund and lessen the red tape to access quality mental healthcare.

Created by L.G. on December 15, 2012

In light of recent violent acts across our country, there is an underlying common factor; Unmanaged mental illness among young adults ranging from ages 17 to 26. Most mental illness that results in a disconnect from reality (psychosis) manifests in individuals within this age range. This age range is also no longer under the oversight of parents or guardians. Treatment must be voluntary. The only way the law can intervene is if the individual causes harm to themselves or others and that is often times too late.
We the undersigned request that children covered by their parents' health insurance until the age of 26 as provided in PPACA, be required to undergo a basic mental health evaluation at a parent's/guardian's request. Further treatment would be voluntary and not compulsory
